Company Shop and Community Shop have been shortlisted in two categories for the 2017 Lloyds National Business Awards. Both were chosen from hundreds of businesses across 18 award categories to become finalists in the prestigious awards.

Company Shop has been nominated for The Lloyds Bank Positive Social Impact Award, which highlights the role of the private or public sector in addressing social challenges and improving their communities.  Company Shop and Community Shop have also been nominated for The Business Award for Sustainability, an award which recognises “an outstanding commitment” to environmentally, economically and socially responsible business.  Together, Company Shop and Community Shop save over 50 million items of good food and household products from going to waste every year.

The National Business Awards are the UK’s most prestigious independent business recognition platform and place a particular emphasis on excellence, innovation and ethical business. Finalists will attend an awards ceremony at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, where the winners will be revealed.

John Marren, Founder and Chairman of Company Shop and Community Shop, said:

We’re absolutely thrilled that both Company Shop and Community Shop have been named as finalists for these awards for the second year running. Our ethos is all about doing business with purpose and we are very proud to deliver positive social, economic and environmental impact for the communities, members and clients that we serve.

“The Lloyds National Business Awards are the premier platform for recognising successful ethical business in the UK and it is a great honour to be nominated.”

Tom Broughton, Group Brand Director of the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards, said:

“Given the economic uncertainty over the past year, it is inspiring more than ever to see British businesses prosper. Through a thorough and comprehensive judging process, this year’s selected finalists demonstrate exceptional quality and diversity across a range of business sectors within the UK. We are now looking forward to the next step of the process and meeting some of the finalists face-to-face.”
